Frequently asked questions

What is schema markup and why does it matter?

Schema markup (structured data) is code, usually in JSON-LD, that describes your page to search engines and AI assistants — what is an article, who is the author, what is the price, what are the steps. It makes you eligible for rich results (star ratings, FAQ accordions, breadcrumbs) on Google, and it helps ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews understand and cite your content accurately.

Where do I put the generated code?

Paste the entire <script type="application/ld+json"> block anywhere inside your page’s HTML — the <head> is ideal, but the <body> works too. Add it to the specific page the data describes (e.g. the Article markup goes on that article’s page).

Is the JSON-LD valid and Google-approved?

The generator outputs clean schema.org JSON-LD in the format Google recommends. After pasting it, always confirm with Google’s Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator — they’ll show which rich result you’re eligible for and flag any missing recommended fields.

Should I add an aggregateRating to my Product?

Only if those ratings are real and come from genuine reviews. Inventing star ratings to win rich snippets violates Google’s structured-data policies and can trigger a manual action. Leave the rating fields blank unless you have authentic reviews to back them up.

Does structured data help with AI search (AEO/GEO)?

Yes. Clean structured data is one of the strongest machine-readability signals. FAQ and HowTo schema make your answers easy for AI engines to lift and cite, Organization and Person markup (with sameAs) helps AI recognize your brand and author as a trusted entity, and Article markup clarifies authorship and freshness — all of which improve your odds of being cited in AI answers.
