Fill in at least one question and answer to generate the code.

FAQPage JSON-LD — 0 questions
<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "FAQPage",
  "mainEntity": []
}
</script>
💡 For AEO/GEO: keep each answer self-contained and direct (don’t require the question for context). That’s what makes it quotable by ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews & Bing/Copilot. (Google retired the visual FAQ rich result for most sites, so the value now is AI-answer citation, not the old accordion.) Only mark up Q&As that are actually visible on the page.

Frequently asked questions

What is FAQ schema and what does it do?

FAQ schema (FAQPage structured data, in JSON-LD) marks up the questions and answers on a page so search engines and AI assistants can understand them. Note: Google retired the visual FAQ rich result for most sites, so this no longer adds the expandable accordion under your Google listing. It still matters for answer-engine optimisation — it gives ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Bing/Copilot clean, structured Q&As to lift and cite, and Bing can still show FAQ enhancements.

Where do I add the generated FAQ code?

Paste the entire <script type="application/ld+json"> block into the HTML of the page that actually shows those questions and answers — ideally in the <head>. The Q&As in the markup must match Q&As that are visible to users on the page.

How do I write answers that get cited by AI?

Lead each answer with a direct, self-contained response in the first one or two sentences — something that makes sense without re-reading the question. Keep it concise and factual. That structure is exactly what AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews) quote, and it can still earn a Google featured snippet for the underlying content.

Will fake or hidden FAQs get me penalized?

Yes — only mark up FAQs that are genuinely visible on the page. Google’s guidelines prohibit FAQ markup for content that isn’t shown to users, hidden content, or advertising. Keep the markup honest and matched to the visible page.
