What is ROAS and what’s a good number?
ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) = revenue from ads ÷ ad spend. A 4× ROAS means $4 of revenue per $1 spent. “Good” depends on your margins — a business with thin margins may need 5×+ to profit, while a high-margin business can profit at 2×. Use the break-even ROAS calculator (1 ÷ profit margin) to find your true minimum.
What’s the difference between CPC, CPM, and CPA?
CPC (cost per click) = spend ÷ clicks — what you pay per visit. CPM (cost per mille) = spend ÷ impressions × 1,000 — what you pay per thousand views. CPA (cost per acquisition) = spend ÷ conversions — what you pay per customer or lead. CPC and CPM are traffic costs; CPA is your true acquisition cost.
How is customer lifetime value (CLV) calculated here?
This uses the common simplified model: average order value × purchases per year × average customer lifespan in years. It gives a quick estimate of how much a customer is worth over time — useful for deciding how much you can afford to spend acquiring one (your CPA should stay well below your CLV).
