Free Backlink Checker

Enter a domain to see how many other domains link to it and the 100 most prominent of them, ranked by Link Prominence. Free, no signup, updated monthly.

What referring domains tell you

A referring domain is a whole website that links to you at least once. Ten links from one site count once here. Links from many different sites are generally a stronger signal than many links from one, which makes the referring-domain count a steadier measure of link reach than a raw backlink count.

The list is sorted by Link Prominence: how central each linking domain sits in the open web’s link graph. A link from a well-connected domain is usually worth more than one from a site nothing else links to.

About the data

The checker reads our link index: a map of which websites link to which, built from billions of crawled web pages and covering millions of domains. It is updated every month, and each update is checked before it goes live.

  • Domain level. You see which domains link to you, not the individual pages, anchor text or whether a link is nofollow.
  • Its own count. Every link tool crawls a different part of the web, so no two tools report the same totals. Use the numbers to compare sites side by side.
  • Monthly. A link you earned last week appears after a later update picks it up.

How to use the list

Look for linking domains you didn’t know about: they show which content earned links, and who might link again. Then run your competitors through the Link Gap tool to find the sites that link to them and not to you yet.

Frequently asked questions

Is this backlink checker free?

Yes. It is free with no signup, and you can download the list as a CSV.

Why do the numbers differ from other backlink tools?

It counts linking domains, not individual links, and every link tool crawls a different part of the web, so no two tools agree. The numbers are best used to compare domains with each other.

What is Link Prominence?

A 0 to 100 score for how central a domain is in the web’s link network: how close it sits to the best-connected sites. It is not Moz Domain Authority or Ahrefs Domain Rating, which are different, proprietary metrics.

How often is the data updated?

Monthly. Each update is checked before the tool switches to it.

Can I see the exact pages and anchor text of each link?

No. The checker records links between whole domains, so it shows which domains link to you but not which page or what anchor text.
